Sports Premium Funding
The Government provides additional funding each year which must be used by primary schools to make
additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport. This must be for the benefit of
all pupils and encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. At Pulham Primary School, we have
received the following funding awards:
2013-14 - £5235
2014-15 - £8256
2015-16 - £8584
2016-17 - £8574
This will lead to an improvement in the provision and an increase in participation and achievement in all
physical education and school sport. Our school has freedom to choose how we do this.
In line with the guidance given by the Department for Education, we have used this funding to:
jointly fund a cluster school’s sports co-ordinator
hiring qualified sports coaches to work with our teachers during P.E.
pay for professional development opportunities for teachers in PE and sport.
provide cover to release primary teachers for professional development in PE and sport.
hire of the village hall to develop dance for year 5 and 6
increase pupils’ participation in the School Games through funding transport
extend swimming provision - extra sessions for those not on course to achieve the end of KS2 target of
