Pulham Primary School is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School, founded in 1852 and located on the outskirts of Pulham Market.
It serves mainly the villages of Pulham Market, Pulham St. Mary and the surrounding villages. In addition we welcome children from other areas, providing there are sufficient places.
The Christian, caring ethos of our school is vital to the school's identity as well as the personal and spiritual needs of every learner in school.
We have a Collective Worship Group in the school, led by Mrs Goddard and made up of children from every class in the school.
One of the aims of the group is to develop and improve the way Collective Worship is offered within the school so that Collective Worship becomes more meaningful and accessible to the pupils and also becomes an integral part of the Christian ethos of the school.
Every other week on Thursdays we have Open the Book assemblies when members of the local church community come into school to deliver worhsip based on stories form the bible. The assemblies involve drama and children from key Stage 2 are involved in their assemblies.
The children and Mrs Goddard meet regularly to consider the way Collective Worship is delivered and to develop the Christian character of the school. Recently they designed a welcome message for the school foyer including a beautiful mosaic cross which Mrs Pulham, one of our teaching assistants, made. Every single pupil added a mosaic to the cross.
We also celebrate Values for Life in our assemblies, the values can be found here
